Micro jigging is my favourite technique for catching fish. I use micro jigs to target a wide range of species, including freshwater fish like trout, salmon, and perch, as well as saltwater fish from small jack mackerel to large kingfish. They all respond well to micro jigs. This technique allows for long casting distances, covering more area and enabling a quick search for active fish.
Trout is my favourite species to catch because they present a real challenge. Their elusive nature and the need for precise technique make every catch rewarding. Additionally, each trout is unique, with distinct spots and colours, adding an element of surprise and excitement to every fishing trip. You never know what surprise the next one will bring.
My favourite location for fishing is the Tekapo Canal. Known as one of the best trout fishing spots in the world, the Tekapo Canal has produced many trophy-sized trout and salmon, with some weighing 30 to 40 pounds. The clear waters and stunning surroundings make it an exceptional place for anglers seeking both a challenge and an unforgettable experience. You never know when you might hook into a massive trout or salmon.
Fishing has been a passion of mine since I was a child. It is also a great way to challenge myself. Each fishing trip is an opportunity to test my skills and learn more about the behaviour of different fish species. The thrill of the catch, whether it’s a small trout or a large kingfish, is incredibly rewarding.
