To maximise bite registration SHIMANO has developed three different tip versions enabling you to select exactly the right option for your preferred style of fishing.
The Hybrid tip has a short spliced solid section that produces much better indication than a traditional hollow tip, which often too stiff to indicate a tentative bite. For extra sensitivity the Long Hybrid tip has a longer spiced section that offers even greater bite registration than the hybrid tip. For the ultimate in sensitivity and maximum bite detection the Sensitive Long Hybrid has no equal and really comes into its own when using fine lines and scaled down end tackle.

The Long Hybrid model is slightly less powerful, but does offer excellent versatility. At 4.20m in length this option has a maximum casting weight rating of 200g, an optimal casting weight of 150g and produces exceptional tip speed when pushed hard. The Sensitive Long Hybrid model is available in a 4.50m length and has a maximum casting weight rating of 150g and an optimal casting weight of 120g. This really comes into play in calmer conditions and when fishing for tentative fish with thinner lines.

They also deliver a massive amount of reserve power and torsional rigidity, allowing maximum force to be transferred through the blank when you want to really push your limits. The Hi-Power X construction uses additional layers of carbon to further eliminate blank twist when under pressure, resulting in a more direct application of power.
