The new DIALUNA has evolved even further with the keywords "Lighter and Stronger". By combining SHIMANO's unique rod technology with the design and manufacturing techniques we have refined over the years, we have succeeded in significantly reducing the weight by up to 14% (23g) compared to the previous model. The combination of SPIRAL X, HI-POWER X, and MUSCLECARBON has realized a weight reduction that tends to result in a loss of strength and power, while maintaining high strength. The new rod is designed to provide class-leading performance in all situations!

FEATURE Technology Details

SPIRAL X

Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano's patented Spiral X construction enhances catching power for anglers. Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a middle layer of vertical fibers as well as inner and outer layers, both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fiber sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and increased torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fish fighting.

HI-POWER X

Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.

Perfection Seat CI4+ (Spinning)

It features an easy grip with no bumps between the hood and the seat. This reduces discomfort felt when casting, manipulating lures, and fighting with fish, and also suppresses fatigue caused by long hours of gripping. SHIMANO's proprietary carbon reinforced material [CI4+] is used for the material, contributing greatly to weight reduction, high strength, and high sensitivity.

Multi-Perming CI4+ Seat

Reel seat designed for easy gripping, emphasizing a sense of unity between rod and reel. Low center of gravity design to enhance stability during lure operation and fighting. SHIMANO's original carbon reinforced material [CI4+] is used for the material, which contributes greatly to weight reduction, high strength, and high sensitivity.

TAFTEC was reconsidering the formulation of the materials and the manufacturing method, the strength of carbon solid tips is drastically improved. Sharp and high sensitivity compared to TAFTEC α, that is the characteristic point.

CI4+

CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with CI4+ are further reduced in size and weight.
