POISON GLORIOUS

To name it glory. Sensitivity and technology merge again with innovative technology.
The sync of JACKALL sensibility and SHIMANO technology.

What is required in the extreme world of tournaments? POISON GLORIOUS has evolved into the fourth generation by pursuing the answer. Adapts to modern fishing techniques with cutting-edge technology based on optimized rod action using ULTIMATE BLANKS DESIGN. The symbol of the fourth generation is the Fusion Grip Technology. By coating the opening end design CARBON MONOCOQUE with a thin cork coating, we have combined a comfortable grip that fits in the palm of the hand with light, precise control and penetrating high sensitivity. POISON GLORIOUS continues to evolve with the participation of new experts in its development. Next chapter in the history to the glory begins now.

KEY FEATURE

A pioneering racing rod that points the way to the next generation with its refined specifications

The Poison Glorious is specially designed to respond to cutting-edge techniques. The fourth generation of the Glorious, which has continued its pioneering history by embodying the ideals born in the extreme world of tournaments, has set the theme of "what a tournament rod should be." Bass fishing is rapidly evolving. With new techniques constantly being devised, what is the ideal and true essence required of a rod? Facing this question, we generously applied all of our current technology to find the optimal solution for each and every item. The refined specifications reflect a strong will to win. Everything is for the sake of catching one fish.

The history of Poison series innovation began with Glorious

The Poison Glorious debuted as the memorable first model from the Jackall x Shimano collaboration. Its history has always been one of innovation. With each generation, new technologies have been incorporated, and the third generation embodied "true lightness" by pursuing the ideal sensitivity and weight balance for each lure and scene. The fourth generation adopted new mechanisms, including Fusion Grip Technology, to improve operability and sensitivity. Furthermore, by achieving both functionality and sensitivity through the cork grip, it has grown into a rod that is closer to the user. New experts also participated in the development, dramatically expanding the range of trends it incorporates. The Poison series has taken a new step forward.

A material-integrated grip that combines sharp sensitivity with slip resistance and durability

The new generation Glorious features a material fusion grip, consisting of a carbon monocoque grip with thin cork. The carbon one-piece, open-end hollow grip boasts exceptional sensitivity, and is combined with thin cork, which offers excellent slip resistance and durability. While a standard carbon monocoque grip would be the best choice if you were solely looking for sensitivity, we've utilized a variety of Shimano rod technologies to achieve both sensitivity and a comfortable grip. The soft, warm feel of the cork is gentle on the hands, allowing you to concentrate on fishing for long periods of time without losing focus.

New X guide, touch-free titanium single, promotes smooth line convergence

The spinning model features lightweight, compact φ20 guides. The guide weight has been reduced by up to 31.3% (compared to the previous model with the same size), improving its compatibility with light lines commonly used in tournaments and other high-pressure fishing situations. The new Touch-Free Titanium (single) X guides feature a revised frame shape that smoothly converges the line as it spirals out of the spool, while also reducing weight. Even with fluorocarbon or taut PE lines, they are less likely to hit the guide frame or blank, reducing casting distance, noise, and line damage. By fully incorporating Shimano's original X guides from the tip to the base guide, rod balance has been dramatically improved.

With the addition of new professional staff, Jackall x Shimano will make further progress

Starting with the fourth generation Glorious, the Jackall professional staff involved in development has been completely renewed. Led by Toshiro Ono, who has been watching the evolution of the Poison series since its inception, the team now includes Kazutaka Minami, Takumi Jonoue, Teruyuki Nagase, and Kazuma Sasa. A new sensibility leads to the next stage. The Jackall x Shimano crossover project has taken a step towards even greater progress.

All items come standard with a cover that can also be used as a rod sock.

All 26 Poison Glorious models come standard with a cover that doubles as a rod sock. For anglers, their rods are like a pair of arms as they pursue their dreams. We've also paid special attention to the cover so you can use your precious rod for many years to come.

IMPRESSION

This cutting-edge racing rod makes the impossible possible and responds to new techniques.

TOSHIRO ONO

A state-of-the-art evolution with refined operability and sensitivity

162L-BFS

This is a core bait finesse model that can be used in everything from open water to light cover. The Poison Glorious is a racing rod that incorporates the most advanced technology available today. While its intended use, primarily for Neko rigs and small rubber jigs, remains unchanged, it incorporates previously impossible features, such as a cork-laminated open-end carbon monocoque, giving it a feeling of greater operability and sensitivity than ever before. The linear input sensation resulting from the lightness of the tip seems to make the most of the tubular's characteristics. This is a rod that will allow you to fully enjoy bait finesse fishing, controlling light rigs with ease.

Aggressive spinning rod that combines "softness" and "hardness"

268MH-S

This is a power finesse rod for tackling the depths of heavy cover with lightweight rigs. Until now, tip-action baitcasting rods have been the norm for cover rods. However, baitcasting tackle requires the use of relatively heavy rigs, and they can be plagued by problems such as backlash when the lure hits a bush during casting. Even when targeting heavy cover, you want a finesse approach with a light rig. The 268MH-S answers this desire. The delicate short solid detects the slightest bite and naturally bites, and once hooked, the tough MH-class butt section instantly decides the fight. This is an aggressive spinning rod that combines both "flexibility" and "strength."

This is a rod that you can feel the high quality of in every way.

KAZUKI MINAMI

An extra fast action model that can be used all year round

165ML/H

This extra-fast action model combines an ML-class tip with an H-class butt. This was something I'd been longing for, and it was the first thing I requested. My most common pattern is lift-and-fall with a metal vibe from winter to spring. The flexible tip allows the fish to bite even when bent without bouncing off the bite, and the strong butt allows me to quickly bring the fight to a close. In the following seasons, I use it with a free rig or Texas rig, so I never take it off the deck of my boat, all year round. The slightly longer rear grip is also a special feature. It's comfortable to use with one hand, and also handles vertically with both hands, which is something I often do.

A bait rod that will hook the fish firmly even when reeling

166L+-S

This is a baitcasting rod that combines a sensitive solid tip with a beautifully bending regular action to attract fish. I mainly use it for reeling with shad in Lake Kasumigaura and the Onga River. Shads are lures that tend to lose a lot of fish, but the 166L+-S has an excellent hook-up, so it's the rod to go for when you want to use shad but absolutely don't want to lose them. While reeling, set the hook when you feel the weight of the fish. You can fully enjoy the fun of reeling fishing. It works well with thin-shaft hooks, so it's easy to use for close-range fishing with a Neko rig or drop shot. It's a utility rod that can be used for both reeling and casting.

A powerful model that can pull out big bass with long casts

174MH+

This rod has been extremely popular since its third generation, and this latest iteration has been meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, giving the impression of even greater refinement in both its performance and feel as a rod. I often use it for long-casting 1/2oz spinnerbaits and swim jigs. Both lures have a lot of pulling resistance and are equipped with thick hooks, but the robust butt of the 174MH+ allows me to hook the fish firmly in the mouth even when setting the hook from a distance. After hooking, the entire rod bends, but it remains firm and unwavering, so I have no worries even when tackling Lake Biwa's big bass. It's also a great choice for fishing in weed areas with casting jigs, heavy Texas rigs, and jig rigs.

A tournament rod with every feature perfectly honed. Even though it's a versatile model, it has a unique depth of capabilities.

Kazuma Sassa

Power bait finesse that can be used to quickly attack around cover

166ML+-BFS

This is a power bait finesse rod developed with PE line in mind for attacking cover areas at a good pace. This rod is equipped with spiral guides, which makes it less likely to tangle even with PE line that has low tension. While power finesse is traditionally the domain of spinning, when it comes to quick handling, baitcasting tackle, which allows you to cast with just one thumb, is advantageous. Baitcasting tackle also has the advantage of making it easier to accurately mark the range. I often use it with small rubber jigs weighing 2-5g or Neko rigs. I'm particularly good at fishing by suspending the lure in the gaps between the reeds and shaking it while letting it drop. This rod was a great help at Lake Kasumigaura.

An essential part of your tackle system

1610M

Among the Glorious lineup of highly specialized items, this versatile rod stands out. The M-class Rokuten is a standard bass rod, but it's typical of Glorious that it's versatile yet has a sense of "depth of what it can do." Its regular, unaffected action works well with both casting and reeling lures. However, because it has a crisp yet exquisite sluggishness, I prefer to use it with spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater lures. Having just one highly versatile rod greatly expands the scope of your tackle system. For me, it's an indispensable rod.

Finesse spin that manages micro baits in centimeters

258XUL-S

This is a finesse spin rod developed for micro bait shooting. In this type of fishing, where you manipulate 1-inch micro baits in deep areas around 10 meters, a tip that's simply sensitive can absorb the input action, resulting in a lift and fall when you actually intended to shake. The 258XUL-S's tip is sensitive yet has a core, providing extremely quick response to your operations. It handles shaking and retrieval with ease, and even with a deviant angler, you can clearly catch a bite. It's an essential tool for tournaments, where one fish can determine victory or defeat.

A finesse rod that can comfortably handle slightly heavy micro baits

259UL

This is a finesse rod focused on microbait fishing. I often use it for sight fishing with no-sinker worms, hob-basting, and jighead rigs. I usually carry it with the 258XUL-S, and when using heavier microbait lures, I switch to the 259UL. During development, we focused on ensuring that even light lures cast with ultra-thin PE line would not get tangled in the guides. The fourth-generation Poison Glorious is equipped with a new X guide that smoothly converges the line as it leaves the reel, dramatically reducing line trouble. PE line fishing has become even more fun.

High sensitivity allows you to feel the lure's movements even before the line is taut

261UL-S

This is a highly sensitive short solid model that lets you feel subtle changes in line tension and the behavior of the rig. I mainly use it when fishing with light rigs that are hooked to the bottom. The moment when a lure that has been stationary starts to move. I think being able to detect this behavior is the most important part of bottom fishing. Since the line usually hangs loose in the water, by the time you pull the line taut, the lure has already started to move. The 261UL-S lets you feel the lure's behavior even before you pull the line taut. The sensitivity of this rod is especially useful in clear lakes.

A racing rod with a unique presence

TAKIMI JONOUE

A versatile bait that can handle heavy lures delicately

168MH

While the Glorious line offers a variety of specialized items, the 168MH is designed to be versatile and minimize its quirks. I mainly use spinnerbaits, chatterbaits with large trailers, and topwater reel lures, but it also handles soft lures with ease. The best thing about this rod is how easy it is to handle. At Lake Kameyama, my main fishing field, even large lures require delicate control, such as sending the lure under an overhang. If maneuverability is important, a length of around 6 feet 5 inches is the norm, but the Glorious has a good casting ability, so I was able to enjoy comfortable maneuverability even at 6 feet 8 inches.

A power rod that can accurately control big worms

1611H

I requested this rod with the image of this type of fishing in mind: using a big worm over 5 inches on a light rig such as a Zero Dan, Neko Rig, or Texas rig, stacking it on underwater brush or standing timber, and luring it with a long shake. It's a fairly niche item focused on a specific type of fishing. It has a soft tip for controlling light rigs, but the butt is quite strong, as you need to quickly remove it from the structure once the fish is biting. While it's a fast-action, aggressive rod, it doesn't have any unnecessary tension, which is nice. It bends beautifully and exerts a lot of torque. As someone who mainly fishes around Lake Kameyama, this is an indispensable rod for me.

The fourth-generation Glorious is sharper and more refined.

TERUYUKI NAGASE

A core model of spinning with high overall performance

263L

This versatile rod boasts extremely high basic performance, including casting accuracy, operability, and fighting power. I developed it with fishing in the upper reaches of reservoirs, or in the backwaters with a strong current, in mind. In these areas, I primarily use sight fishing with 4-5 inch no-sinker worms or 1/32-1/16 oz small rubber jigs. In these areas, you often have to fish tightly around the cover with thin lines, so once you get the bass biting, you need to quickly move it away from the cover. The 263L is finesse, but also has the explosive power to take control the moment it bites. For me, it's an important part of my spinning tackle, forming the core of my fishing gear.

A finesse spin that makes the most of the tip's swing range and allows for fun shaking.

264UL

This rod combines a soft tip with a hard butt for an aggressive finesse spin. Despite being a UL class rod, it has the butt power to compete with big bass. It excels at shaking action, taking advantage of the tip's swing range, and I often use it with 1/32-1/16 oz drop shots, Neko rigs, no-sinker rigs, and insect-type lures. It's an interesting rod, as it's easy to sense the weight of the line, allowing the lure to sink and shake the line slack. Personally, I use the 263L when fishing mainly in the mid-depths, and the 264UL when fishing mainly on the bottom.

Exquisite swimming performance that automatically picks up slack

265ML

This spinning rod combines a highly elastic slow taper blank with a highly sensitive Excite Top. It excels at creating consistent rhythmic action and keeping the lure swimming at a consistent range. I often use it for mid- and bottom-stroke fishing with 1.8-3.5g jig heads, or for floating a flared worm with a nail sinker at a consistent depth. Maintaining a consistent range while creating action can be difficult, but the 265ML's tip automatically compensates for line slack, making it easy to keep the lure swimming. It's also easy to use for the reaction downshot technique that's popular on Lake Biwa.
