SHIMANO PUTS A NEW FACE ON A CLASSIC
IRVINE, Calif. – New for 2009 – With 71 different rods offered, anglers have been relying on Shimano’s Clarus series for fishing success when targeting panfish, bass and walleye, salmon and steelhead, and inshore saltwater species. They now can look forward to a new face on a classic, as Shimano offers upgrades to the entire Clarus rod line-up.
Already designed with performance features including IM-7 graphite blanks, along with Fuji New Concept aluminum oxide guides and lightweight Fuji graphite reel seats, “the subtle changes we’ve made allows us to continue to offer a rod series that is a great value when you look at the quality construction and components we use,” said Justin Poe, rod product manager for Shimano. “The new color, thread wrap and graphics provide an even nicer looking rod, plus anglers can be assured of a great fishing experience with superior-in-performance rods.”
The new Clarus series includes 71 total rods – 24 casting and 29 spinning in sizes from 5’ to 7’6” – 11 salmon and steelhead rods from 7’9” to 9’ including mooching and Michigan handle rods – and five spinning and four casting inshore salt rods, in 6’6”, 7’ and 7’6” lengths.
Backed by an over-the-counter limited lifetime warranty, “anglers only need to think about having a great day on the water, knowing that they have a rod in their hands that offers performance and durability,” said Poe. “And if you want to try a different technique or decide to pursue some coastal action instead of your normal bass fishing, there’s a Clarus made for you.”
